Imagine - I had completely forgotten about Holidailies until I got a note from Nebulopathy! After 20 years or so of doing the delightful yearly challenge, you’d think I’d remember. Then again, it’s been quite a long, strange trip this year and many things have slipped my mind. Anyway, here I am, only a week late.
So, who was I? Who am I? What am I going to be?
Well, I was a technical writer. I wrote software documentation for my company’s order management and payment systems, for developers (API stuff) and business users (how-to stuff). I was planning to retire mid- to late 2026.
Then the company took matters into their own hands and laid me off in March. I searched for a new job to satisfy the Unemployment Gods and to preserve my severance pay. I applied and applied and applied, but basically heard only crickets. But you know what? I decided that I don’t want another job. So I stopped looking for one. Let’s see how long I can stretch that severance before I have to tap my retirement funds (which are not, shall we say, robust).
So, that brings us to the future. After floating through the summer and fall, I’m going to try writing some more. Maybe finish the next Girl Clown book. Maybe not. I can say, however, that I will not writing fuckin’ API documentation.
See you tomorrow!
XOXO

Happy Holidailies! I sort of forgot about it to and joined in a few days late. Glad to see you!
